OUR BYLAWS
New England Regional Black Nurses Association, Incorporated (NERBNA) was formed as part of a national effort to establish state wide Black nurses associations across the country.
The first meeting was held at Dimock Community Health Center under the leadership of E. Lorraine Baugh on August 14, 1972.
It was then decided to form a corporation representing the six New England states: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts. NERBNA was officially incorporated in Boston, Massachusetts on January 9, 1973. Through the years, the other New England states have organized their own chapters with the Boston area chapter of the National Black Nurses Association retaining the name of New England Regional Black Nurses Association, Inc.
